Adam-

Adam-  (This information was provided by the Campbell Family Organization.) The Campbell line of our Genealogy has been proven and certified to date back entirely to Adam.
The first part of the Campbell parentage ties into three biblical genealogies through Joseph, Levi, and Judah.
The second part of the pedigree is the historical pedigree which is accepted by historians and theologians alike.  The pedigrees run from the bible genealogies down through Welsh and Scottish nobility and connect directly with that part of the pedigree which we call the family pedigree.
The third part of the history is from the family pedigree, which our forefathers have preserved in their personal records and those with whom they lived.  Some of these are an integral part of the histories of New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and across the plains to Utah.

The Campbell surname is one of the oldest in existence. The family is one of the largest. From the Campbell Clan there descends several branches such as that of Mc Arthur's who are the descendant of Arthur Campbell. then there are the McNiel's, the McGregors and we might go on and name quite a number of others. One of the legends has it that the name was first derived from a combination of names, such as "Camp Bellus" or "The beautiful camp of bellus" and this is fourth born out by one of the branches of the family that takes the name of Beaucamp.
